My friend Charlie's startup, Path101, has a personality test available to try to match people with possible careers. It takes a while (10-20 minutes), but the results are kind of interesting, at least to me.

Unsurprising that teamwork came out on top. Or love of thinking given my tendency to, as Jofish puts it, blog about [portentous]"deep thoughts I have had"[/portentous]. Nor is it surprising to me that concreteness and perfectionism are at the bottom.

The possible careers it matches up for me: Natural and Physical Science, Information Technology, Education, Business Management, Law. No shockers there except maybe Law - I was a physicist and a software developer and am now moving into management. It used to have Marketing over Law in my early results, but I guess more people have taken it since then and shifted the results.

Anyway, it's mildly amusing and insightful. Plus, hey, helping out a friend. Check it out.

Teamwork is #2 for me--confidence is #1. My matches are Information Technology, Natural and Physical Science, Business Management, Marketing, and Education.

Granted, I'm totally hopped up on expectorant and cough suppressant, so who knows if it's a good representation :).
